Unlinkable Zero-Leakage Biometric Cryptosystem: Theoretical Evaluation and Experimental Validation

Template protection is an issue of paramount importance for the design secure and privacy-compliant biometric recognition systems. unlinkability, together with template irreversibility, essential requirement to properly guarantee protection. In fact, it ensures that templates generated from same trait, but used in different applications, cannot be linked identity. This paper deals a system satisfying unlinkability requirement. The robustness proposed solution evaluated by exploiting methods stemming theory stochastic optimization, as well using quantitative measures specifically characterize schemes. A case study finger-vein biometrics considered test cryptosystem on non-ideal data. scheme guarantees 128 bits security acceptable false rates real-life conditions. Moreover, we provide guidelines determine parameters transformations applied real traits so ensure proper recognition, security, performance.
